Call for Papers

The Seventh National Congress of Modern Languages will be held at the Karlsruhe University of Education.

The Congress will be a unique opportunity for foreign language teachers in primary, secondary and high schools, vocational schools, adult education, colleges, universities and other institutions to meet and discuss the latest developments in the teaching and learning of foreign languages. The Congress will provide keynote addresses, lectures and workshops in a number of panels that will explore practical and theoretical aspects of learning and teaching English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Chinese, Dutch and German as a foreign or second language (see Programme Structure).

We are pleased to invite you and other foreign language specialists to contribute to the Congress with a lecture or workshop. If you wish to offer a contribution related to the congress theme, please indicate the target group. Please take into consideration that the majority of participants will be teachers from different types of schools.

To register please fill in the Registration Form and write a short Abstract of your contribution of about 150 words. Send both the registration form and the abstract in Word document format to the GMF Head Office by January 31st, 2018. Its address is provided in the registration form.

Please bear in mind that the Congress is organized by members of a non-profit association. We hope that you understand the fact that, for this reason, only members of the GMF will receive a certain financial bonus regarding congress fee and travel expenses.

We invite you to attend the grandest Congress of Foreign Language Teachers in Germany. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the evening social events too. Feel free to stay in Nuremberg for a longer time, and enjoy the great attractions of the city and the beautiful surrounding region.

The Congress Programme and the Registration Form for all participants are available by May/June 2018 on the website

We are looking forward to meeting you at the Sixth National Congress of Modern Languages.

With very best wishes,
